A Touch of Spring
Unseasonably warm weather before the official start of spring means a day to skip the heavy coat and enjoy the freedom of a blazer or a cape. Yippee! While I welcomed lighter outerwear, outfit choice was still winter appropriate and in my favorite color combo of black and camel.
Every piece of this outfit ‘sparks joy’ for me – from the twelve year old Pink blouse, to the equally old Cole Haan booties. The wool vest and camel pencil skirt are both from Revolve…
The belt actually came with the vest – love brown leather with black! For a feminine touch I added a double strand of pearls, with gold earrings and bracelet. (Avoid matching pearl earrings and bracelet which screams ‘old lady’!)
Hmmmm, do you see what’s draped over my handbag? That’s not a scarf….drum roll please….
It is a fabulous Burberry cashmere cape that was an amazing find last year at REVOLVE in Lexington! One of those times when I wasn’t looking for a cape, but how could you pass this up??? It’s a perfect piece for transition season and in the fall it looks wonderful with jeans and high boots. Classic. Elegant. Cozy.
It’s still winter, but without hat, heavy coat, and high boots, it sure feels like spring!
Questions for you:
- What’s your go-to outfit on unseasonably warm days?
- What’s your biggest challenge for getting dressed on these days?

Lucky you with the early spring! Here in NYC, we are surrounded by the remains of lots of very dirty icy snow from our recent storm. As for clothes, I am still recovering from a knee replacement and revision surgery recently, so it is loose around the knee jeans or wider pants for me. Can’t wait to get back into my skinny jeans! Have a great weekend.
Actually, no early spring this week – these pics were taken a few weeks ago when we had a couple of mild days. I bet you are glad this surgery is behind you, when true spring arrives you will be back to the skinnies! 🙂
I hate it when we have a warm day in winter and I see people in shorts and flip flops! My go to outfit is probably a dress with leggings or my cotton dress-pants in black or navy and loafers. Still winter color palette, but the material is more spring like.
