Back to Reality

One of the reasons I like taking a vacation in early March is because when you return home the weather is often significantly milder, spring is just around the corner. Not this year! We returned to a paralyzing snowstorm, biting cold temperatures and wind chills. Ugh.  Dressing for work means sticking with winter clothes, no way bare legs…:-(

DSC06407 With a tan face, this pink blazer was a flattering choice, and might as well wear a wool skirt since it will soon be out of season.  As for stockings, the next best thing to bare legs – you guessed it – Wolford tights!DSC06401

Rolled up the sleeves to show the Pucci print lining. Bought this jacket over ten years ago at TJMax. A simple, beautifully tailored blazer is always a good investment and the silk fabric makes it is appropriate for all four seasons.

Accessorized with gold jewelry, and a ruffled wool scarf…Rather than wearing a pink lipstick which would look too ‘matchy’ and can look dated, I kept my lipstick in a neutral tone – let the jacket alone be the standout color.

Still wearing fur and berets in March???  Damn!

  • Despite the inclement weather, you managed to pull together an outfit with a springy feel to it. I found it interesting that you didn’t want to match your lipstick tone to the pink jacket. I love keeping the lipstick tone coordinating to the color of the outfit but your choice of a neutral looked lovely as well. Welcome home – back to reality!

  • Love your outfit. Thought of you today when someone at work told me I always dress so nicely. Please don’t think I’m bragging when I say I think spring is here to stay for us. It was 73 today and will be in the upper 70s the rest of the week. But you look so nice in your fur and your beret! So that makes up for being cold right??
