Fun At Revolve: Behind The Scenes Style

For those of you that have been following me, it is no secret that I enjoy shopping consignment, especially at Revolve, an established, woman-owned business in my hometown…when they recently launched a campaign to showcase some of their customers and how we style our treasures, I was thrilled to participate! My assignment: choose whatever outfits you like, give them the ‘Candy Costas’ style, then strike a pose! Here are the results…

This is actually my own outfit, but since the skirt and cashmere turtleneck came from Revolve, we decided to shoot it…the success of this look is all about balance – the JCrew plaid taffeta skirt is preppy, yet preppy is NOT my style…adding the bold fishnets and combat boots takes care of that! And to top it all off, a cropped leather jacket…another option to the black turtleneck would be a simple white tee set off with some chunky layered necklaces…what I like most about this look: it is unpredictable, definitely not how JCrew would have styled it!

Fun outfit #2! If the waist on these shorts were not so tight on me, this yellow suit would be in my closet today! Such a ‘wow’ color, and what a fun handbag! Under the jacket I chose a sleeveless crop top, though it isn’t too cropped! You could also wear a black bra-lette for a more riské look, or wear a black button-up shirt to be more conservative…

To avoid being too matchy-matchy, a bright white high heel instead of black…another more casual option would be simple white sneakers!

Ok, THIS DRESS. Trench style on top, silk organza skirt on the bottom. Obsessed. Did not purchase but I may soon regret it…anyway, the styling, the styling! It’s all about the shoes, they will make it or break it. With this type of European/urban styling, you need a chunky, edgy shoe/boot – pumps would destroy the look.

These combat boots (by Chloé) worked perfectly! And my signature black beret seemed to pull it all together…I LOVE this look! Perfect for business casual, fun for weekend wear, day or night…very ‘New York City’, don’t you think?

And since it’s COLD outside…why not add a black shearling jacket? 🙂

Here’s a casual look that is easy breezy, yet still chic! As soon as I tried this jacket on, it was a winner (I actually bought it!)…why? Aside from the great neutral color, it is cropped and not boxy, a flattering style on my body type. And with a Gucci belt, you need nothing else!

With white sneakers or a western boot, off you go – whether to the soccer field (not me!) or out to run errands…

And finally, as I was getting ready to leave the shop, I spied these bright gold jeans by L’Agence…yes, I bought them, but this is NOT how I will wear them…the boots are fine, but with such skin tight pants I prefer to balance them with a loose top, so stay tuned for that in another post! I already have a few fun ideas…

Hope you enjoyed my Revolve fashion show as much as I enjoyed the experience! Till next time!

Work hard. Play hard. Enjoy every day.
