Sweata Weatha

There are so many things to love about the fall season, and for many gals, cozy sweaters are at the top of the list…oversized, slouchy sweaters, half tucked into jeans are all the rage, but on a petite person that look can be overpowering – at least that’s how it feels on me…this unique sweater is just the right amount of cozy/cuddly without making me feel lost in too much fabric…found it at Emerson Grace, my favorite shop in Nashville! (You can order from them online)

The brand is sweewë paris, the fabric is a soft and lightweight wool/acrylic blend. While my first idea was to wear it with black jeans and boots, on this particular day I needed a comfy business casual outfit and started with the satin Theory skirt – the tri-color sweater added visual interest and nicely dressed down the skirt…next time I may try a white shirt or a slim black turtleneck underneath…

On the feet: Sneakers or western boots would both be great casual shoe options – but for work – black booties! These by Stuart Weitzman.

Gotta grab a scarf!

And for the mild, rainy day, my Jane Post leopard rain jacket…purchased well before the leopard trend began!
The Bottom Line:
- ‘Sweater weather’ need not mean bury yourself in bulk; pay attention to proportions that are flattering to your body type.
- Wear chunky sweaters with ‘unexpected’ bottoms – a satin skirt, a leather skirt, even shorts with tights!
- Different necklines call for different styling; under a v-neck you might go bare, wear a contrasting tee, or wrap a scarf around your neck. With a crew neck, wear a shirt underneath for collar and cuff accents, or wear it plain with statement earrings, with or without a scarf.
