Swing into Spring

The weather here in Boston may still not be warm, but the spring season is officially here! And in terms of how that affects what you wear, most people are happy to shed their winter wardrobe. Speaking for myself, I actually like winter clothes – boots, furs, hats, scarves, cashmere sweaters, tights – BUT – after several months of turtlenecks and tights I am certainly ready for a change. Variety is the spice of life, so let’s swing into spring!

You might enjoy colorful flowers in your home, but wearing bright colors is not the only way to dress for spring, especially for a more sophisticated look.

In the next couple of months I will still wear plenty of black and neutrals, only styled in lighter ways…here, with a black/beige polka dot blouse from JCrew, bought on sale during the holiday season for next to nothing. It feels so feminine and chic, I am OBSESSED with it. (Makes up for some of the pricey mistakes I have made in the past, haha.)

Another favorite piece that transitions beautifully into spring is this pleated skirt by Rag and Bone…it is a lightweight triacetate/polyester fabric that can be worn year round. With the sheer border at the hem it looks especially pretty – and season appropriate – with bare legs.

Bare legs and white booties will have you dancing in the street! Honestly, there is something so cool about wearing white boots – they can elevate the simplest outfit, they may even elevate your mood! These by Rag and Bone.

Before the scarf and coat go on, take a closer look at the little pin on my lapel…it came with jacket, which is a classic Zadig & Voltaire, found last year at Revolve. When you see a great classic piece like this don’t pass it up because you already have a black blazer – different styles, different fabrics, and subtle details all create different looks that extend the milage of your wardrobe. While here the jacket is styled for business, it will also look terrific with white jeans or even denim shorts! 😉

Well, no shorts for awhile, still chilly here! But it’s perfect weather for this Theory wrap coat, and a soft wool scarf in coral – a touch of the tulips!

Happy Spring ladies!
