Waiting for Warmth

Aren’t you getting completely tired of your winter clothes? Tired of the layers, the sweaters, the socks, the boots? (Well, maybe not the cute boots…) As for me, once March rolls around I feel like I could get rid of everything in my closet. But no. It will soon be time to purge and update my spring wardrobe, but not quite yet. In the meantime, must find pieces that look and feel lighter and brighter while still weather appropriate. JMcLaughlin tops are perfect! This particular one I actually found many moons ago at Revolve. Once you know your size you can scoop them up without even trying them on. (They run generous) They are great for business attire, yet can work just as well for weekend wear with jeans, as seen here. Belt by Ralph Lauren belonged to Ginger, bracelets are my ever growing collection from various places of travel…

Bright, need bright! How about a red scarf???

Wearing brown belt and boots (instead of all black) adds to a rustic feel and is less ‘matchy-matchy’.

Along the same lines, a tan jacket instead of black gave the outfit a lighter look.

Black beret – no way! Light and bright, I went for white!

What are you wearing these cold spring days?

  • I am so sad that I’m still layering (long sleeved shirts and sweaters). As it’s not a long walk from the parking lot to the door at work, some days I don’t even wear a coat. But as soon as I start to complain about lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s, I remember that you all are having a rough winter with all of the snow storms. You look very spring appropriate but warm and toasty. Love the coat.
