3 Ways To Wear Leather Leggings

Leather pants, leather leggings, or in this case, faux leather leggings are NOT just for twenty-somethings and not just for evening wear….they can be worn at any age, by all body shapes and sizes….it is a matter of finding a brand that is comfortable, fits you well, then wearing them with a top that either covers up or shows off your ‘assets’!  While I was considering purchasing real leather pants, I could not resist these Wolford leggings because they looked great, were less than half the price of leather pants, and they are machine washable!  Amazing!  Here are three ideas for how to wear them:002
1 – Wear with a long sweater…..This gray sweater I found several years ago in a New York shop….it is more like a tunic because it completely covers your rear end, which is often more flattering and a classier look….here I wore a high heeled open toe shoe, but a boot or bootie would also look great….perfect for wearing out to dinner or to a house party – toasty warm but still stylish and sexy!

2 – Go for an all black look…..For the ultimate in sophistication, there is nothing like all black, and nothing more elegant than black lace……this top is also from Wolford and is a versatile piece to wear casually with jeans, or conservatively, under a suit jacket….wore a plain black cami underneath, hoop earrings, and simple leather booties  –  another shoe alternative I like would be the Stuart Weitzman shoes shown above…..high heeled pumps would not be my choice (trying too hard!)……perfect outfit for a night on the town with your special someone….018

3 – Dress them DOWN!  No need to save your leather leggings for evening – layer a white tee with a soft denim shirt or a long flannel shirt, throw on your fashion sneakers, and off you go to do Saturday errands – and looking so cool!  This particular shirt is from Lucky, but there are many similar plaid flannel shirts on sale everywhere now!

Next I can’t wait to wear these with a conservative white shirt and a tailored black blazer – maybe adding my floppy bow!  What’s key is to balance the edginess with something feminine or unexpected.  Definitely a fun piece that will add spice to your wardrobe! 😉
