A Day in Yellow

Whether the sun is shining or not, you can brighten up your day in a yellow dress, a warm color that is often associated with joy, happiness, intellect and energy!

How could you not be happy in this dress? It is a simple body-con sheath by Israeli designer Yigal Azrouël. I have admired his dresses in the past, but never owned one until I recently came upon this one at Revolve – the vivid color attracted me, but the fabric really sold me…it is a nylon-acetate that is thick enough to be tasteful for such a fitted dress…super comfortable and perfect for traveling…

For shoes I opted to wear nude leather slingbacks – they elongate the legs and keep the focus on the dress…these by Giamberto Rossi are a flattering, sexy style while still being comfortable and work appropriate…

Surprise! The back of the dress has this interesting color block detail…which led me to a navy jacket as a topper…

Another Revolve find, this relaxed navy blazer by Elie Tahari perfectly tones down the bright dress for the office setting…

Professional to the max!

Even though I may be tucking this scarf in my bag later, I always like to have one handy…this one is by Chan Luu – super soft, lightweight, and so luxurious. Once you own a Chan Luu, you will definitely want another…this one I found recently at French Lessons in Winchester…

In psychology studies and research, they say that colors can greatly affect our physiology since it influences anxiety, pulse, blood flow, etc…one article I read online says that yellow can actually increase your metabolism! Yay – I think I’ll wear this often! Yellow may be my new red. 😉

What yellow pieces do YOU have???

  • That dress looks great on you! I only have a couple of yellow pieces, both cotton Ralph Lauren sweaters. Maybe I think yellow is too bright for me?
