A Summer Saturday

Tank by Calypso, skirt by XCVI

For those of us that are working girls, there is something extra delightful about Saturdays in the summer…..they are more laid back, less crowded, and even in the city there is a vacation-like atmosphere…..I love starting the day lounging outside with my coffee and occasionally forgoing the healthy Kashi cereal for a sinful honey dipped donut…..eventually it’s time to get up and get dressed – errands to do, people to see…..What to wear??  Must be comfortable, summery, casual, and not boring!  How about a white cotton lace skirt!  This skirt was a great find at Revolve this year – tags still on it and under $50…..the length hitting just below the knee is perfect for me – any longer and it would enter the frump zone – shorter and would be too girly-girl……Kept the top simple with a navy cami and added a wide tan Ralph Lauren belt (was Ginger’s) and strappy sandals….sand suede booties would look great with this too, but on this day, my feet needed to breathe!

Even though temperatures are nearing 90, I almost never leave the house without a scarf and jacket….this faux leather jacket by Milla is a favorite of mine because besides adding another texture to the outfit, it is small enough to stuff in my bag! So very convenient! Found it a few years ago at Helena’s in Belmont…

White cotton lace shorts, dresses and tops have been a hot item this spring and summer and many high end boutiques have pieces that are well over $300…..no need to spend that amount on a fun item that has such a limited season….you can still get the same look with lower priced items so you can save your money for true ‘investment pieces’!
