On The Road Again

You are traveling for business. You want to look professional. You want to be comfortable. You want to be cool in the heat and humidity. You don’t want to spend a fortune. For me, the easiest solution is a simple sheath dress, two of my summer favorites shown here….the first one is actually two layers, a bright white layer under the black, split at the sides which creates fun movement when you walk…..it is 100% nylon so rolls up tightly and takes up hardly any room in a suitcase……..found this year at French Lessons in Winchester Center….it’s a fun boutique that has multiple locations: Concord, Hamilton, Newburyport, and Wellesley too…..some things are pricey but they have great sales! This dress was under $200…….

For shoes I like to break up the black and white with a nude or luggage colored shoe, and likewise for a jacket will choose tan instead of black or white…

This orange sheath was on sale for under $100 at Banana Republic a few years back, and what mileage I have gotten out of it! Worn with high nude pumps, no scarf, and drop earrings, it is sexy/elegant for a night on the town….with a mid-heel, scarf, and a tailored blazer, perfect for business….here I chose my glittery gold kitten heels to add an unexpected touch of glamour while still looking professional.

Whether a true navy or French blue as shown here, both are perfect with orange and I love this color combination for summer…….
Take notice of TV anchorwomen and you will see many summer sheath dresses, worn with very little in the way of accessories…..while this is what looks best on television, for those of us on the street it is fun to add personal touches to ‘make it your own’……or go the minimalist route! When you are tired and need to quickly choose an outfit, a dress like this is a ‘no-brainer’……now off you go!
