Dressing for the office in the middle of the summer takes deliberate consideration in order to be taken seriously…….another consideration when getting dressed is office temperature – it may be 90 degrees outside, but if your office is an icebox you want to wear layers that will keep you comfortable…it’s always easy to start with a sheath dress – here is a Banana Republic dress I have had for years, a great color in the summer season…… A navy jacket is a perfect topper for the coral dress – it ‘tones down’ the bright color for the business setting and adds a layer of warmth….this particular jacket is by Necessities, found at a boutique in Chatham…it is cotton jersey and was under $100….works equally well with jeans or shorts…I chose a silk scarf to add a dressier accent to balance the casual jacket…. Shoe choice, shoe choice! Navy pumps? Too matchy. Nude pumps? Looks just fine, but somewhat predictable. How about a strappy natural sandal? Perfect. While these Coach sandals are open-toed, they do not expose all the toes, which is better for the work environment….(Jack Roger sandals are great but not for work!) Add a summer bag (Furla) and voila! Ready for the sun – ready for the office – ready to be taken seriously. 🙂
