Casual Work Wear

Many of you have asked for ideas/suggestions for casual work wear – not business casual – just casual.  Perhaps you work as an elementary school teacher, or in a café…..you might be doing physical work, things that will get your clothes dirty – both comfort and practicality are important, but you still want to feel feminine and look stylish.  You also want to convey a message of confidence and polish…..Not impossible!!!  Below are some great, affordable pieces by Neesh from Portobello Road in Chestnut Hill that can be worn different ways to work, and also take you out after hours….all machine washable and as comfortable as wearing pajamas…..feminine and flattering, versatile enough to wear year round. (This shop is at ‘The Street’, where the old Bloomingdales used to be).

Neesh tunic and sheer top, Slim Me leggings (all from Portobello Road)

The sheer top comes in a variety of colors……the tunic is a bit asymmetrical and intentionally wrinkled – you actually store it by twisting it up in a knot…the leggings are thick and have a wide waistband – super comfy….you could also wear a patterned legging for a less conservative look….the length of the tunic completely covers your bottom and half your thighs, which makes it work appropriate. I intentionally did not accessorize much to show you how basic these pieces are – you can add as much or as little to suit your style and work situation.

Portobello Road just got in new spring pieces for this Neesh line….in addition to great markdowns on their winter merchandise….the shop is an absolute visual delight – amazing boots, belts, scarves, unique handbags……many items are pricey, but if you are looking for lasting value and uniqueness, look no more!  It’s in a fun little outdoor mall where you can grab lunch at The Cottage or Legals, end up with a Pinkberry fro-yo……..let me know if you go!!!!  🙂
