Day Trip to Jersey

After six months of working completely from home, I decided it was time to leave my Massachusetts bubble and head to New Jersey…man cannot live on Zoom calls alone! With a new hire on board it was important to continue our tradition of having a welcome lunch together, so we made a COVID safe plan of an outdoor lunch…

To avoid navigating the train and Ubers, my sweet hubby volunteered to be my chauffeur for the day. 🙂

Wow. I am finally getting dressed for real work again – what will I wear??? No ‘creative casual’ and no sneakers for sure!

The business woman is back! You can’t go wrong with classic style – a camel leather skirt with a navy blazer…for a touch of fun, I opted for these booties instead of more serious nude sling-backs…on a warm September day it was still fitting for bare legs!

Accessorized with small gold hoops and a silk Burberry scarf…

Under the blazer is another great basic, a white top by Susana Monaco, found recently at The Hive…

It goes without saying that this top is super versatile, and you can wear it dressy or casual, any time of year…keep in mind that it runs very small, so size up! I am usually either an XS or S, and I sized up to a Medium…another great detail to know: you can skip a bra!! Woohoo! It has a built-in shelf bra that gives plenty of support…if you desire additional coverage you can also wear nipple concealers. No bra straps to worry about and very comfortable! (Comfort is key when you are going to be in the car for seven hours!)

We finally arrive in record time! From Belmont, MA to Englewood Cliffs in less than 3.5 hours! With time to spare, we stopped by the Hudson River to stretch our legs…

And take a few pictures! It could not have been a nicer day…

My delightful chauffeur dropped me off at Lefkes, the Greek restaurant where our business lunch was scheduled…the outdoor patio was lovely, food was yummy, and best of all, it was so wonderful to meet with colleagues in person after months of Zooming…as much as we try, nothing really takes the place of true human interactions…hopefully it will not be too much longer when social distancing is a distant memory.

This time, a road trip to NJ – next time, NYC via Amtrack! 🙂

Stay well. Dress well. Enjoy the NOW.
