Farm Girl Glam

Even a city girl likes to dress country every now and then! On a cold January night heading out to dinner, a fun and cozy outfit centered around this Buffalo plaid shirt by Ralph Lauren which was a Christmas gift from hubby…

While this pattern is great during the holiday season, it’s not only for the holidays! It’s really a great look for all of winter, here dressed up a bit with Wolford leggings and Ralph Lauren boots…

Accessories make all the difference in more ways than one – they not only add personal style but they can transform a look from frumpy to fabulous! Without a belt, on my petite yet curvy body, I would look like a major FRUMP….it’s important to know your body type and what looks good on you…With a curvy figure, always wear a shirt like this belted – if you have more of a boyish shape and/or are small on top, you can wear it with or without a belt…this vintage belt belonged to Ginger…

As for a scarf, the subtle beige plaid was a nice mix to the red and black…white would also be a pretty choice…

For outerwear, it was a night to go warm and casual in a SAMM down jacket and my classic wool beret…

Indoor dining in the burbs – a rare treat these days!

Though I didn’t take pics of hubby, he also wore a Ralph Lauren denim shirt that was a Christmas gift from me! Ha – great minds think alike, we must have both recognized that this was our level of dressing up these days…

Before closing, here is a pic of a day I wore this shirt more casually, with white jeans and flat boots…no need to only wear Buffalo plaid with black…

In my dad’s kitchen

Here in New England we have many more weeks of winter to go, so plenty of time to try ‘farm girl glam’!

Stay well. Dress well. Enjoy the NOW.
