Girl Gone Goth?

A typical Saturday morning…after working out at the gym, you will find me relaxing at home with coffee and the newspaper…in addition to the Boston Globe I always look forward to Saturday’s ‘Off Duty’ section of the Wall Street Journal…it has many fun articles, often related to fashion and style…

What’s this??? Goth is actually becoming a mainstream fashion trend? Not just for the young and unconventional? Hmmmm, I like edgy looks, I just might give this a try tonight when Peter and I go out to dinner…

There is no shortage of black in my closet, and wearing a deep lipstick color will be fun for a change…the question is, how far will I take the look?

The bustier was an easy choice, and next I chose the black faux leather skirt. Sexy for sure, but Goth?

Maybe looking like a character from the Addams Family isn’t the best idea after all? Decided to skip the dog collar and the black combat boots, though I do have such items – and damn – too bad I threw out my ripped fishnets…

Instead of boots I opted for lucite pumps by Shutz…now to decide what jacket to wear…one of my many BLACK jackets, right? Well, after asking hubby his opinion, he sent me in a different direction…

Peter said this looked “more elegant”. Yeah, well, I wasn’t going for elegant, but okay, okay…

With my hair freshly colored the deeper tone complemented a wine lipstick, and with a bare neck, large drop earrings (Jennifer Miller) were just the right amount of bling…

Perhaps my outfit was inspired by ‘Goth’, but it definitely ended up looking more ‘Glam’.

And now we have: Glam meets Rocker! Hahaha…Peter wore a black leather Ralph Lauren shirt that he had just purchased earlier in the day…a versatile piece that can be worn as a jacket or as a shirt, casually layered over a teeshirt or sweater…

Girl did not go Goth this time, but I will try this look again. Next time I will skip animal prints and keep it all black. With boots. And maybe the dog collar. Yeah, this could be scary…

Happy Monday!
