Go For The Gold
When someone goes shopping in Nashville, you would think they would end up with cowboy boots, right? Well, I did not…just did not see any that I could not live without – but – there were plenty of other items that definitely caught my eye, such as this fabulous Jane Wood blouse from the Emerson Grace Boutique…when I tried it on in shiny black, it was an immediate “WOW, I’ll take it, what other colors does it come in??”….silver or gold….well, as you can see, I went for the gold!

You know you have made a good purchase when you can wear a piece in different ways…the first time I wore this blouse it was to an evening party; I wore it with a black leather pencil skirt and a layered long necklace…here it is styled for a business casual look with an ivory flared skirt by Theory…

At first I had on sheer nude hosiery, but with shorter length of the skirt and the high heeled boots it felt a bit too sexy for work…the black tights seemed like a more conservative choice.

With a fitted black blazer, perfectly professional!

Smythe is the brand of the blazer, beautiful fabric and tailoring…found at Sole Amour in Winchester last year…it’s a lightweight wool blend that can pretty much be worn year round, except for the hottest days of summer.

Ready to hit the road with hat, scarf, and gloves, wearing a festive business casual look…you might be wondering why I would consider this ‘business casual’ as opposed to ‘business formal’…the answer is simple: the skirt is too flirtatious for a business formal setting. If this was an ivory pencil skirt that hit just below the knee, that’s a whole different story…small details can make a big difference!
Speaking of details….This post shows the gold blouse styled in a work outfit, and I told you I wore it to a holiday party with a leather skirt…well, it also looks great worn casually too…

Blue jeans, black jeans, white jeans, the possibilities are endless! For such a statement piece, this metallic blouse is very versatile! Glad I went for the gold!
Hope you all enjoy a very Merry Christmas wearing festive outfits that put a smile on your face! Till next year! 🙂
