Lauren jacket, TJMaxx, Calypso striped jeans
Let me start by saying that I am not a ‘sneaker person’….sure, love my sneakers for the gym, but for casual wear after work, or on the weekends, you will not ever see me in sneakers – until now! Not sure what drew me in, but as I was shopping for vacation clothes at Bloomies, I could not resist these Superga sneakers – they seemed to be a fun way to add a bit of boyish edginess to my tight jeans and short shorts….they came in several colors: white, faded navy, chambray blue, and more…I had a hard time deciding but ended up with “azalea”: not really red, not really pink, but somewhere in between – a really eye popping fun color that will go with a lot in my closet….I may have to get the white ones too……OK, let’s fast forward to a day out shopping with Peter, stopped in to the trendy John Varvatos store at the Copley Mall….”Those are great sneakers!” I said, as I pointed to Converse low tops….”I already have sneakers, my black ones.” was Peter’s reply….”Yeah, so what? These are not the same.” They came in three great colors: faded navy, a Nantucket red, and tan…..he willingly tried them on, said they were very comfortable, and bought the tan!

The weather in Boston is certainly still keeping us in boots, but boy, will it be fun to transition to lighter footwear soon….whether it is with a summery look, or even with all black and leather jeans….

Shortly after our his and hers sneaker purchases, I read in the Wall Street Journal that New York Fashion week was about to start, and they predicted that stylish sneakers were going to be a hot item………who knew????? Well, it will be fun to experiment with sneakers as a comfy alternative to my heels, and I look forward to seeing how Peter rocks his………stay tuned…….:-)
