Even if you buy a dress at a consignment shop as I did here, it can still be costly – but as you know, it’s not about the “E” word – expensive – it’s about the “V” word, VALUE!…..This is a Chanel that I purchased as my mother-of-the-bride dress, found in New York at a great consignment shop on the upper east side. It was at least two sizes too big, but was transformed to a perfect fit by Jacques Tailoring in Belmont (see previous post, ‘Find A Tailor’)…..My goal was to look elegant with a touch of drama on that day, so I accessorized with satin sandals and large rhinestone earrings….my hope was to wear this Chanel again, in different ways to get my money’s worth, and I certainly have……… With a couple of easy changes, here is look #2…….. 005 Here it is worn with an urban, edgy look by adding a Hobo black leather studded belt and Stuart Weitzman booties – loved it! I wore a flashier bracelet and smaller earrings, let the belt and shoes be the main focus.Stuart W shoesplay chanel

  • Such an elegant dress…Love the top photo…love your dark hair and the dress. Not liking the belt in the bottom picture..doesn’t add anything to the dress..detracts from it…seems to casual for it. You can carry it Candy no question, but the top way is simply elegant.
