Peter’s Party Style
Let me start by saying that while I certainly give my opinions on clothing choices, this truly is Peter’s style, many pieces that he has purchased when I am nowhere in sight. When it’s time to get dressed for a party, I know that not only does he own appropriate, ‘upscale casual’ gear, but he actually enjoys wearing it all.

And I enjoy it too! Other than the shoes, all pieces here are John Varvatos, an edgy, urban brand suitable for all ages. Yes, it is pricey, but you can find this brand on a regular basis at The Nordstrom Rack, deeply discounted. Go often and get luckier…:-) Shoes are To Boot New York brand, also from The Rack.
Details, details…the green foulard pocket square from JCrew is a nice accent with the cranberry jacket. (Ok, that one I picked out!)

These shoes are actually a low boot; they work equally well with dress pants or with jeans. They add instant style to a casual outfit.
When is the last time your guy updated his coat? Just because it isn’t worn out doesn’t mean it still looks good. Styles change and you can easily look outdated in a too long and/or too baggy coat. (Can you say ‘old man’) Peter has a charcoal gray overcoat that is nice enough, but lately just looked too big and boxy, even over a sport jacket. This is a recent purchase from Hugo Boss; it is three quarter length so practical for day, night, casual or dressed up. The ‘tobacco’ color is a nice change from black/gray.
Edgy detail: black leather under the collar! 😉
Very nice combo Peter! Casual, festive, sophisticated – and sexy!
