Professional in Pink

I love the color pink! It is feminine, soft, and flattering to most skin tones……it’s a color I gravitate to for vacation wear, and also enjoy select pieces year round, for work or for play….if you do wear pink to work, there are a few things to keep in mind in order to avoid looking too ‘girly’ or like all that’s missing is a white poodle on a leash!
– Choose pink in tailored styles; a pencil skirt vs. a full or flared skirt, no ruffles or frills. Jacket above is a great example of a style that looks professional, I actually wore this in a business head shot.
– Wear pink with neutral colors; looks very nice with grey or navy, can’t go wrong with black.
– Use pink as an accent rather than head to toe; a scarf, a tank under a jacket, a purse – one at a time is usually enough!

018 Aren’t these pink gloves adorable? They truly ‘pop’ with the ivory coat and black trousers, a refreshing change from black gloves. Feminine and stylish, still completely professional…..how about you? Have you worn pink to work?

  • The pink striped shirt is very nice, and I LOVE the hot pink gloves. And, that ivory coat! Have we seen that coat before? It’s a beauty.

    • Yes, the ivory coat has been seen in previous posts – it is Mackage – bought at the Tannery in Harvard Square few years ago…I especially love the 3/4 length, doesn’t overwhelm a small person. Thank you!!
