Return of The Red Sweater
Just a few weeks ago I featured this red cashmere sweater from Ann Taylor, so why would I be showing it again so soon? Because in December, red is festive, but you need not resort to wearing the red sweater/black pants predictable combo…here’s another option!
Pairing red with leopard is classic and chic, a perfect business casual look during the holiday season. This skirt is at least six years old, but wearing it in a different way makes it feel new…
When you wear a sweater and opt not to wear a blazer, pay close attention to accessories to maintain a polished, put together look…a brushed gold necklace with a thin camel belt added just the right touches. Brown boots and belt were a softer option and a nice change from black.
My tortoise shell readers with red arms looked like they were intended for this outfit – totally unplanned, yet quite fun!
Final touches for the freezing cold day: my mother’s mink that I had restyled two years ago (made a HUGE difference, I highly recommend!), a wool beret, and one of my favorite scarves…
One of Ginger’s favorite ways to wear a red sweater was with winter white pants. Super festive, especially with metallic accessories! How about you? What’s your favorite way to style a red sweater?

My husband bought me a suit several years ago that is a tiny black and white check. I don’t wear the jacket and pants as a suit, but I style a red sweater, white shirt, and those pants. I had the pants redone so that I can wear flats with them (hemmed, tiny slit at the ankle) and now I love them. I also love your mink. I have my mom’s fox jacket but don’t wear it because it’s so BIG and fluffy. (I like sheered fur, much lower profile:) I have thought about having it restyled, but am afraid I’d mess it up.
Those black and white checked pants sound adorable, a great classic, very ‘Audrey Hepburn’… If you like the fox jacket, I would get an opinion from a professional on what they could do – I am SO glad I restyled this coat, I enjoy it so much more, before I felt schlumpy in it. Thank you so much for all your comments!
