Saturday Style

After a long week at work, how great when Saturday comes! For most people, it doesn’t mean hanging around the house in your bathrobe and watching old movies – it means grocery shopping, running errands, supporting your children’s activities, maybe lunch and shopping with a friend….still busy, but a different kind of busy….for me it’s about errands, grocery shopping, clothes shopping, and often getting in some ‘Grammy’ time with Henry and my daughter…..So what’s a Gramm to wear??? Most Saturdays I will be wearing flats of some sort to give my feet a rest; a stylish flat sandal or sneaker, in this case a tan sandal I bought on my honeymoon in Greece….the next thing to consider is the weather….on this particular day it was on the cool side so I wore white jeans with a striped loose fitting linen sweater, both from Calypso

Adding layers makes an outfit more interesting and also keeps you warm when the AC in stores is too much! 070

065 The price of denim jackets can range from about $50 to hundreds for designer labels….while I can appreciate spending more for great fit and fabric, I thought the jacket above was quite nice for the price!! It is from American Eagle, in the $50 range…..the straw bucket bag (found years ago in Maine) adds summer lightness to the whole outfit – and I just love the combo of  the anchor print (scarf from Bells and Whistles) with stripes – I may be heading to Whole Foods but could be on the South of France!  Haha!

Here is another Saturday where the weather was hot and steamy…..army green cropped pants bought years ago at Bloomingdales looked great with a new camo tank from Portobello Road….notice I have on the same necklace and same sandals as the first outfit – when you love certain shoes/accessories wear them different ways and they become part of your own personal style….

Can’t go out without a scarf and/or a sweater! In this case, it was a lightweight beige cotton sweater (old!) from Anthropologie……all machine washable, perfect for pizza outing with Hayley and Henry!

Happy weekend everyone!
