Sometimes you may not be attracted to a certain style because you associate it in a certain way – for me, these knit collarless fringed jackets always reminded me of something a politician or politician’s wife would wear – conservative, somewhat matronly, certainly not me……however, this particular blue jacket (75% off!) caught my eye, and part of the appeal was that it was in one of my favorite boutiques, Portobello Road in Chestnut Hill…..nothing in this store is frumpy, so it got me thinking that it might be fun to mix this in with my current wardrobe – as long as I wear it with a more casual approach….so here it is with a tan knit pencil skirt, a feminine polka dot blouse, and glitzy gold kitten heels, which added an unexpected touch of glamour – blue pumps with this would have been way too ‘running for office’…

Adding the pearls and carrying the small handbag pulled the whole outfit together with a ladylike yet current look…next I may try wearing this jacket even more casually, with white or faded blue jeans, as an alternative to a denim jacket…..here is another example of this style found on Pinterest…
