Sea and Sand

sea You need not be strolling by the sea to be inspired by the colors of the beach…..on this particular Saturday it was a bit chilly but still the middle of summer….easy decision to wear white jeans and a suede jacket….when I pulled out the aqua tee-shirt, the pieces together reminded me of beach glass, beach sand, salt water, and a clear blue sky….a nice change from black and navy and fitting for the season!

This linen tee-shirt I found last year at Calypso, bought it in a few colors when it went on sale – fits great, washes well, and adds interesting texture…the jeans are also from Calypso, they also fit and wash well; I like the hem rolled up twice….The fabulous jacket is Banana Republic, found earlier this year at Revolve and looks just as great with work separates…..pom pom You know I look for any excuse to wear a scarf, right? Well, time to pull out my pom poms!! This luxurious cotton scarf trimmed with pom poms is something I had been admiring for awhile in high end boutiques, but never splurged…..well, no need to splurge – I found this at Revolve too! If you go often enough, you are bound to get lucky!side One more ‘lucky’ item to share: this classic Furla tote…….In perfect condition, it is lightweight,  has a leather bottom and straps, and I love that the top zips closed……best of all, it was a fraction of full retail price…….Yay Peter!  I saved us money!!!!

Three outfit secrets:

– I tucked in only the front of the tee-shirt to show off the belt buckle, but left the rest out to look more relaxed.

– Wore Paul Mayer shoes with a 2 inch block heel; not only very comfortable, but a lot more flattering that a complete flat.

– For lipstick wore Nars ‘Voodoo’, a frosted bronze….soft and subtle, allowing the pale aqua color to stand out.
