When I recently pulled this outfit together for work, it did not strike me as blog post worthy, but when I looked in the mirror I actually laughed to myself thinking, “this is so Ginger!” – so here it is…….
Starting at the bottom, a new trend in pants that works well for casual or business are cropped flares…they are generally high waisted, fitted through the hips, and flare out ending just above the ankle bone – a nice style to show off your shoes, whether a heel or a flat, and flattering on many body types….these are by Rag and Bone, found at Intermix…I like that they have no belt loops and they zip up the back, so you can either tuck in your shirt or wear it on the outside without added bulk… The shoes are by Arche – a comfort shoe that can definitely be considered ‘crunchy’, but when you are going to be doing a lot of walking, there is nothing better…..for this particular style I think the red color, ankle strap, and high wedge override the crunch factor! Found on sale last year…..
Moving on up, the simple black top is clearly not your everyday black tee….it is by MaxMara, a high end label, a terrific bargain found at Revolve in Belmont….what makes the difference in a simple black top? The fit and the fabric. Once you put it on, you just know.
Without thinking I grab a black Theory blazer with leather sleeves, a Burberry scarf, and my favorite sunglasses by Prada – ALL classics, ALL so versatile, ALL so Ginger!
