TGIF

It’s finally Friday, the end of your week…you are getting dressed for work and in the ‘Friday mood’ what is the first thing you reach for to wear? Did you say black pants? Or pants in general? Not a bad choice because it typically feels more casual/relaxed than a skirt or dress…however, pants are not the only way to go for your Friday mood…

This JMcLaughlin skirt I have had for many years…the fabric is stretchy so it is super comfortable, the pattern is bold and fun…and that’s exactly the whole ‘look’ of this business casual outfit – bold and fun!

The white booties make a strong statement, especially paired with the black tights…and rather than wearing a more traditional blazer, an unconstructed leather jacket adds finish without formality…

Under the jacket, no bow tie blouse on this day! For a more casual look, a simple fitted tee with cap sleeves…the brand is ‘143’…it’s a great wardrobe basic – once you have one, you will want another! Made of a rayon/spandex blend, it will not fade or shrink like a cotton tee, and is machine washable.

On top of the tee, two necklaces…yes, it’s two, not three – the middle and bottom pendants are one piece, then I added the top one…when you layer necklaces, mix the metal colors, mix the shapes, and generally aim for an odd number…a fun way to accessorize!

Switching topics for a moment to makeup…for the times when you may have a tan, bright lipsticks and/or sheer lip glosses are generally most flattering…in these pics my vacation tan was faded enough so that I could wear a softer nude lipstick again…this is a mocha color (MAC) with a peach shimmer gloss layered on top…you always want there to be contrast between your lips and your skin, and if you have an olive complexion like me, a hint of color is always better than straight beige.

Ok, moving on to outerwear! Why not go all the way with the bold and fun look? While this Moncler coat (not new) is perfect for aprés ski wear with sleek ski pants and furry boots, it also adds unique, feminine style to everyday wear and definitely stands out in the sea of black puffers…;-)

Happy Friday, have a great weekend all!

  • Love the necklaces and skirt especially. My puffer is my favorite color- aqua! So it really stands out. I love that your casual Friday look isn’t so casual.
