Welcome Wide Legs!

After a style has been around for a few years it is often time for a change.  Super straight leg skinny pants: don’t know about you, but I am welcoming alternatives, especially for work.  Have been hunting for  high waisted, wide leg black trousers and recently found these at Ann Taylor.  They are cropped so will be a different length on you depending on your height – hitting at the ankle bone seemed to be a good length on me that fully shows off the chic wide leg.  If you are taller they will hit above your ankle which also would look cute.

What I love about the high waist of these particular pants is that the waist is not too tight – plenty of room to tuck in a top, which you will always do with this style. Comfortable and flattering too.

With a wide leg choose a shoe that balances and ‘grounds’ the volume; avoid a skinny heel or a shoe that’s too delicate – a boot, a bootie with a high chunky heel, or a wedge looks best…these Chanel booties are perfect! (Hooray Revolve!!!)

If you are going to need a jacket, choose a cropped one that doesn’t hide the high waist…this black leather by Elie Tahari has been in my closet for years!

A simple, classic style is timeless. The silk shirt is another oldie but goodie, Equipment is the brand… I added the floppy bow. 😉

A red scarf for a pop of color before I hit the road…

Trying to ditch the hats but it was so darn cold last week I  had to pop on my beret!

So – what do you think?  Will you try wide legs???

  • The length you’ve chosen for those pants is perfect. It shows off your booties, and keeps the pants from dragging on the ground, which is NOT a good look! High waisted pants are great for those who have a long torso, not so much for those of us who don’t.
