Candy Goes Comfy

Theory synthetic blend knit

When you are headed out to do errands on the weekend, or headed over to a friends home for food and fun, you want to be comfortable, right? What’s the first thing you are likely to wear?  Jeans? Leggings? Just don’t say sweats please…;-)   Jeans and leggings could be good options, but do you ever consider a dress? Some dresses are more comfy than jeans and they give you instant femininity.   You say you want to wear sneakers?  No problem!

A fashion sneaker worn with a dress is a very ‘on trend’ look that can be worn day or night. There are so many options, you could go crazy and end up with a closet full of fun sneakers…slip ons, leather, micro-fiber, classic white canvas…just puh-leez don’t even think about your gym sneakers. Big no-no.

A couple of things to keep in mind when you wear sneakers with a dress:  If the dress length is below the knee, you want it to be a fitted style. If it is above the knee the style can be fitted, flared, or full. Either way, ditch the socks and be sure your legs are smooth and moisturized.  A touch of tinted moisturizer goes a long way if you don’t have a tan.

The jacket you choose can make or break your dress and sneakers!  For a more laid back look you might pick denim, but I preferred a touch of edginess with this nylon quilted bomber – found at Revolve in Lexington!  The label is not Prada, not Burberry, not anything like that – it is ‘Etcetera’!  The label doesn’t matter when you love something.

And I also love this bright green linen scarf, bought many moons ago at the old Tannery in Harvard Square…

Super comfy, head to toe!

When was the last time you wore a dress on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon?

    • Thanks – they are Cole Haan ‘Grandpro’ – light as a feather! Just bought them last month so I am sure they are still available.
