If you have a closet full of black clothing, hopefully there are also some white pieces too – nothing looks more eye catching with black than bright white……and no need to put it away after Labor Day, as many tell me you still do…..sure, the lightweight linens and eyelet are best for warm temperatures, but otherwise, white is great year round. In above photo, I was heading out to dinner, not sure what I was in the mood to wear, but started with the white jeans……..with a silver cami, black jacket, and black booties, it had the right balance that made the white jeans perfect for December – this was no outfit for a summer night….topped it off with a black pea coat and my old beret and it felt current and fresh, a nice change from dark pants.

Here’s another nice look that would be easy to duplicate in New England  – white jeans with a camel or beige sweater….just need to add a coat, just about any color will work…..or another sophisticated option, as seen below, is to wear bright white over your black basics…….definitely more maintenance in keeping white clean, but the wow factor is worth it!
