Winter White 2020

The following post and pics were done in late November, before our family was touched by Covid…these days my smiles are not so bright…

Here we are in the Christmas season during a pandemic…bringing new meanings to the song lyrics, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” Ugh. Ok, we can get through this and we all are coping in different ways. One of the ways for me you know already: dressing well even if I don’t leave the house…this particular creative casual outfit was festive, comfortable, and best of all, a spirit booster…

The pants are part of a suit from Banana Republic, bought in the spring of this year…because the fabric is a synthetic blend, they can be worn year round, unlike cotton or linen pants which would look and feel too summery – at least here in New England!

The cream top is a great basic by Susana Monaco, found at The Hive in Winchester…instead of tucking it in, I wore it on the outside and added a belt, giving it a more casual, festive look…both the silver necklace and the belt are oldies but goodies!

Here’s where it really gets fun – by adding a lightweight Cotes of London vest…since I purchased this vest earlier this year in black, I wore it so much that I had to have another! It’s SO COZY yet it’s glamorous at the same time…I wear it indoors as an alternative to a sweater, and here it was a nice more relaxed alternative to my white blazer, which felt a bit too formal for WFH…

The cap sleeves make it quite unique for a down vest – feminine and stylish enough to wear with skirts, dresses, or simply jeans…

At the end of the work day there were a few errands I had to run…”Aren’t you going to change,” asked Peter…”Change? Why would I change? Nobody has seen this cute outfit!” 😉 Well, right??? Faux leopard jacket by Pretty Little Sister, metallic booties by Kelsi Dagger.

Winter white outfits are perfect for the holidays, whether you are at home with your ‘bubble’ group or from afar on a Zoom…bet if you shop your own closet you too will find pieces to put together in a whole new way!

Stay well. Dress well. Enjoy the NOW.
