Workin’ in Vacationland

What a beautiful day to be going to the Cape! Osterville, it is so lovely!…..Sure is, but I ain’t wearin’a swimsuit or a Lily Pulitzer sundress….this gal is going down to work…..so what did I wear? Considering 90 minutes in the car each way, something comfortable for sure…..still need to look professional but wanted to relax my look a bit – how about a crisp white linen shirt! Perfect, paired with this oldie but goodie tan knit skirt from Banana Republic….Cape Cod or not, still want some pizazz, so jazzed the basic separates up with a bold sparkly necklace and leopard kitten heels…

Paul Mayer Attitudes are sophisticated, comfy, and classy shoes – I am not a fan of the flats, but the kitten heels with the pointy toe are feminine and add just enough height for days when your feet need a rest…the website directs you to local shops that carry this brand, but be aware that each shop carries only certain styles….when you see one you love, scoop it up!

Glad I found this Furla straw tote at Revolve this year, has been a perfect summer bag….and regardless of the blazing sun, I freeze in air conditioning – this black cotton Theory jacket from Bloomies did the trick….
Off to work I go…..maybe a lobster roll for lunch?

I’ve been reading and thoroughly enjoying all of your blogs. Just couldn’t let today’s go by without telling you how absolutely stunning you look all the time, today no exception!!!! I know Ginger is smiling down on you with such pride.
P.s. Every time I reach for my flip flops I think of you and grab the nicer flats instead.
Thank you Denise!! I think of my mom so often, she was a powerhouse with great taste, I often wonder where it came from…..wish I could share so much with her….:-) Greatly appreciate your comments!

I agree. Your “look” is always greater than the sum of the parts (which are all good on their own). On most people a plain white linen blouse could look wrinkled, frumpy, etc., but you make it look cool and fabulous! There must be a gene for this and you inherited it!
Thank you Laura….I do think I inherited a gene, but I also am acutely observant and learning from others everyday!
