Beach Day

Yeah, the weather forecast was for a hot summer ‘beach day’, but truth be told, I was headed to the office. On a Friday. So this gal needed to wear an outfit that was laid back and summery while still being appropriate for the work setting…I can do that!

Started out with simple basics in soft neutrals…the skirt is a faux suede by Wolford, the color of sand on the beach! The white oxford cloth shirt is by Frank and Eileen, a year round favorite that I love just as much for work as I do for weekend wear. Shoe choice can make or break an outfit…these camel open-toed booties give height with just the right amount coverage for the office setting.

A wide belt worn low and slouchy pulls the two separates together…now I need a scarf and some bling that matches the casual ‘beachy’ feel…

Oh yeah! My pompom scarf! This pale aqua scarf has been to many fun vacation places – I have worn it on the beach as a sarong or scarf with an aqua bikini…now just as cute with a casual work outfit!

Very bohemian, in a color that reminds me of sea glass…

Another touch of aqua is this beaded necklace, layered with a delicate silver evil eye necklace and tan beads…with the fun jewelry around my neck I balanced it with simple and serious on my wrists…

Pop-up showers in the forecast! Why carry an umbrella when you can wear a cute leopard raincoat? This Jane Post coat is light as a feather and has a practical hood, so perfect for summer…
Wear an outfit that makes you smile and it will start your day off right, regardless of where you are going – to the beach – to the office – to the grocery store! Where are YOU headed today???

Candy, I love every piece of this ensemble. This is your casual Friday, but as I work in a much less formal setting, I will aspire to this for Mondays through Thursdays! (Don’t cringe, but Fridays are normally cropped jeans, a nice shirt, and awesome shoes.) Have a great week and a happy Fourth of July!
Same to you Lori! 🙂
