Bring On The Bows

If you take a look in your closet you will probably notice certain styles/details that repeat themselves – maybe it’s things with sparkle, things with fringe, or things with leather trim…sometimes you might not even be aware of an ‘addiction’ until you stop and take a close look as I recently did regarding bows…it can’t be denied – I love them, and my collection continues to grow…

This is my latest addition, a silk tee shirt by Red Valentino, found at Revolve…definitely a ‘statement’ top that creates a bold, dramatic look…I love that the strings of the bow are not attached so that there is movement when you walk…

Fun and feminine to the MAX!

For the office setting, I paired the top with a pleated skirt by Rag and Bone, an old TJMax treasure…for a soft and feminine shoe choice: beige suede wedges by Stuart Weitzman…kept accessories minimal, allowing the bow to take center stage…

While the black skirt choice was obvious and easy, it will be fun to wear this top with other colors on the bottom, or more casually, with leather pants or jeans…I will refrain from bow overload, avoiding a handbag or shoe with bows…

Valentino and Prada handbags

Won’t carry these when I wear the Valentino top, but aren’t they fabulous? Bows, bows, bows!!!

Stuart Weitzman sandal, Gucci shoe

Will not wear these shoes with this top, but they are also part of my beloved collection…

How do YOU feel about wearing bows? Let me add here that not all bows are alike! While my preference is for a bold look – a BIG bow and/or a bow in a contrasting color to the shirt/dress – you may prefer a more subtle look…

This internet photo shows a monochromatic bow tie blouse that is a more conservative look…would be great for the office setting and in the evening it would look super cool with fitted jeans and high heels….JCrew, Ann Taylor and Zara often carry styles like this…

OH! You are not a fan of bows??? Tell me then, what’s YOUR obsession?

  • I do like bows but you LOVE them I think! My obsession is with red shoes. I can manage to work them into a great number of outfits, as most of my closet is full of neutrals. I adore the new top.
