Casual Cool

Here is a comfortable yet hip outfit that would be perfect if your job is in a casual environment, or perhaps for a young mom; for me it was a Saturday of errands and shopping….the leggings are a heavy cotton twill, so not like wearing yoga pants, the silk shirt is machine washable, and the Stuart Weitzman boots have a low heel but look dressier than many other styles….the one glitch here is the Skull Cashmere sweater is not machine washable, but easily substitute a washable sweater (any pattern you like) and you will have the same look – it is the layering of two pieces that makes it look put together.094 The next layer is a black wool leather trimmed jacket by Mackage, comfy and perfect for fall temps…..

Never stop with just a jacket – gotta wear a scarf! Here’s a soft and cuddly blanket scarf, purchased last year at Marmalade in Belmont for under $50 – they still carry a nice variety this year…..though it’s green and black, it looks equally nice with navy and jeans, or over a leather jacket..

And the final touch – a soft leather tote recently purchased at Crush on Newbury Street….what I love about this tote is that it is beautiful leather without a designer logo (or a designer logo price tag!) –  sure, I love the designer bags too, but it is not necessary that every bag be an obvious designer.  (Keep ’em guessing!)  This particular tote also came in black, burgundy (so pretty!), as well as a shimmery black – all fabulous!……the ‘brown sugar’ color will be a nice complement to all the black in my wardrobe and really goes with everything.

The Crush boutiques have two locations: one on Charles St, one on Newbury St – right next door to the new Revolve! A perfect shopping destination! Let me know if you check it out!

  • I have a burgundy leather handbag similar to your brown sugar one. I love it but don’t use it that often as the straps never stay on my shoulders! I have found that I do better with a satchel type bag, over my arm. Love your outfit. This is the kind of thing I wear to work (casual environment). Always look forward to your new posts.

    • Thank you for your comments Lori. Funny how you never know whether you will love something until you actually use it and see….if this tote does not stay on my shoulders it will end up at Revolve!
