Date Night Lives On

When you have a Saturday to yourself without any necessary tasks or obligations, it’s a wonderful thing! Even so, the day goes by, time moves on…one recent Saturday Peter and I enjoyed a perfectly pleasant day doing our own things separately, then reconnected at home over cocktails. Before we knew it, it was going on 8pm…  “What do you feel like for dinner?”, I asked. “Room service,” was Peter’s answer, immediately followed by, ” We are going out, you better get ready. We’re not old yet.”  “Ok, ok – where are we going and what are you wearing?”

With burgers and a stoli-doli in mind, we decided on The Capital Grille in Boston…

He was dressed in a matter of minutes.  Cashmere blend sweater by Vince and super soft slim fit trousers by AG. Very nice Peter! Both found at The Nordstrom Rack in Burlington. He says, “The Rack is my Revolve.” (Referring to all my great finds at Revolve, which, incidentally is soon to be opening in Newton, MA.)

Instead of a traditional blazer, he wore a khaki leather jacket by John Varvatos…not something you are likely to find at The Rack, but you never know!

The vintage American flag scarf is also John Varvatos – it’s a a great scarf that instantly adds edgy style to any look – love it with jeans, tee-shirt and a blazer…

Another great find at The Rack – Bruno Magli loafers…and what you can’t see are his crazy ‘psycho bunny’ socks, an additional fun detail.

Wondering what I wore?

James Perse dress, DVF leopard clutch, Hobo belt

The inspiration for this outfit came from two places: unseasonably warm weather and shear laziness. This cotton James Perse dress I have had for many years, almost always worn as a ‘vacation’ dress. It’s black. It’s sexy. It’s way easier than coordinating separates.  Why not add a belt, black booties, a leather jacket and wear it in October?  I’m ready!!!

Out the door by 8:30, sitting at the bar by 9:00!  We’re not dead yet! 😉
