What a joy to finally hear a weather forecast with temperatures above seventy degrees and NO RAIN! Finally summer, finally time to pull out the linen shirts, the cotton skirts, and sheath dresses that can be enjoyed with or without a jacket. This bright white sheath is by DVF, a recent find at Revolve…I actually have the exact same dress in robin’s egg blue so I knew that the fit and fabric were terrific…
You could wear this dress simply with minimal to no accessories, or go crazy by adding your personal touch of bling!
I went for the bling! These earrings are my latest obsession, Jennifer Fisher hoops that come in a wide range of styles and sizes. These are the ‘Baby Samira hoops’ in plated 10K yellow gold…they are hollow, therefore lightweight, and while they make a strong statement, the price is not bad ($350) compared to 14K gold ($2700). Still more than you want to spend? Madewell makes hoops that look just like this for only $28. Plenty of options for hoop obsessed ladies! 🙂
Next piece on this summer day is a fabulous navy blazer by Smythe, found at Sole Amour in Winchester. Smythe jackets are investment pieces, well worth every penny for the fit, the fabric, and the unique details.
This is their ‘Duchess Blazer’ in a lightweight wool that can be worn year round… the fit is impeccable, yet it does run very small so you will need to go up at least one size…they call it the ‘Duchess Blazer’ because it is a favorite of Kate Middleton…I always think it’s fun to hear stories behind a clothing piece!
The back vent features a ‘cheeky’ cutout, an interesting detail that is more obvious when wearing a strongly contrasting color underneath…
Ready to head to work in an outfit that is 100% classic, yet not frumpy in any way. What makes a classic fabulous and not frumpy?
- Fit and fabric
- Bold accessories
- Sexy shoes
