Gloomy Day Outfit
I have certainly not perfected the selfie, but I chose to show an obviously blurred picture to tell the story…..
A cold and damp December morning in Boston, what to wear to work when you want to be comfortable, warm, and look cute??? A sleeveless sweater dress (4 years old) seemed right, but I did not want bare arms, did not want a cardigan over it (don’t like sweater with sweater)…….I tried a JCrew blue cotton shirt underneath and it looked professional and was comfortable. Shirt had no pockets so added no extra bulk or unwanted lines….. The more interesting parts about this wool dress (Suzanne Monaco): First, it is a size Large. I am usually a size 4 so I almost didn’t try it on in the store – fortunately I did because it didn’t look large to me – you can’t always go by size! It fits perfectly. Second, I came close to trashing this dress because it had become “pilly”……in my linen closet I found a battery powered gadget (purchased by practical hubby) that cleans up sweater pills and voila! Like new. This is also good for cashmere sweaters that pill easily……
Add Wolford patterned stockings, Aquatalia waterproof boots, and a chunky scarf – ready for work!
