Go Boho

008 Do you ever browse through a Free People boutique, like the ‘boho’ looks but never sure how to wear them?  It certainly isn’t as simple as throwing on a tee shirt and jeans as it usually involves layering pieces of different textures and styles…when I found this Free People lace tunic at Revolve I thought why not give the Bohemian look a try – heading out for an afternoon of shopping in Soho, anything goes! At first I thought, OMG, this looks like a cheesy wedding nightie, but adding a black mock turtleneck with leggings and suede booties offset the ‘bridal’ effect.  Topped it all off with a wool felt hat by Rag and Bone, and there is no mistaking me for a cheesy bride!023

The faux leather jacket served multiple purposes:  an added layer of warmth, a texture contrast to the lace, and shape to the billowy tunic.

011 Boho chic looks are loose, relaxed, and accessorized to the max – maybe you like long necklaces,  a scarf, and/or an arm full of bracelets. Here I opted for a soft scarf and a mix of earthy bracelets. 007 Maybe next time I will wear this tunic in a more understated fashion: with skinny jeans, a cropped sweater and boots. Conservative enough even for Boston, right?  But for shopping in NYC, might as well go boho all the way! 😉
