One Sweater, Two Ways

Because summer is so short, I like to maximize the number of times I can wear my white cotton skirt, but in ways that are sophisticated and not mainstream. On this particular work day, I chose to wear a black mock turtleneck in paper thin cotton, worn on the outside, belted with a thin patent belt….what gave this look ‘pizazz” and added softness was adding the camel colored sweater – an end of summer sale purchase last year at Calypso. A jacket would work as well, but would have looked a bit heavy (with this top) on a summer day. The white/camel/black color combo is a favorite of mine, and very Burberry…..I did carry my Burberry bag, but no need for a scarf with the turtleneck.

This sweater has also been great to wear with jeans with a lace edged cotton cami…..sometimes you want to wear the pretty cami, but don’t want to be so bare….this sweater has a very open stitch pattern, so you are covered up, but not completely…..perfect for us middle-aged ladies. In below photos, sweater is worn casually with an aqua tee shirt dress, out for fun….the dress looks perfectly nice without the sweater or belt, but when you add accessories it makes it more YOU. There are so many different ways you could wear this dress, it deserves a blog post of its own!
