Here is what I wore on a recent Sunday shopping excursion with hubbie. As I was deciding what to wear, my goal was to be comfortable and to break up the black with something colorful and fun. This lightweight JCrew sweater was perfect, and the skull scarf added a bit of funky – something I would not wear to work. The Stuart Weitzman riding boots I bought on sale this year at Nordstroms – they are comfortable and can be worn equally well with skirts to work. The wool beret is at least twenty years old, the coat, a gift this year.

We had a fun day shopping in Boston – something Ginger and my dad would do ROUTINELY – he is a saint. She was on a first name basis with many of the sales people at Neimans and the Ralph Lauren store and chatted with them at length about clothes, their families, life in general. If I would tell her that I went into one of these stores, she would say to me, “Do they know who you are????” (her daughter…) My response always was: “Who am I???”
Ahhh, the mother/daughter relationship….
