Simply Navy
When you are looking for a change from black as business attire neutral, you need not look any further than navy blue…not royal blue, not cobalt or turquoise, but just a simple deep navy blue – the closer to black the better! This spring I was on the hunt for navy pieces and had lots of success…today I share one of my finds…

The brand is Milly, the fabric is a crisp shirting cotton…

The style details: cap sleeves, ruching at the hip, a placket over the top buttons, and a slit that’s just high enough…you could wear this as business casual attire, out to lunch with the ladies, or even for date night!

Whatever shoe you wear will set the tone for your ‘look’…here I wore fun high heels by Elie Tahari, bought many moons ago…

With a fun shoe, I also chose a fun jacket – another old favorite by J Crew…

It’s always good to explore different ways of styling whether it’s with something new or something you have worn for years…it keeps your look fresh and more interesting, but keep in mind, sometimes you might try something that you decide ‘never again’. Like me on this day. :-0 I would style this dress differently next time…

This is not a ‘party dress’. I like it much better with a more conservative shoe and a classic blazer. Don’t you agree?
Work hard. Play hard. Enjoy every day.
