Super Simple Skin Care
Many of you have asked about the details of my skin care routine – let me start by saying that ‘care’ may be too strong a word. ‘Lucky’ may be more accurate! Being of Armenian descent, I believe that my middle eastern genes play a significant role in the quality of my skin…with that said, there are probably things that I take for granted that also contribute to a ‘glowing’ complexion at 65…
Almost embarrassed to admit that Dial bar soap is what I use to clean my face each morning, and in the evening, it’s a hot washcloth with whatever milled soap happens to be handy. :-0 But wait! There is a routine that I have followed my whole life: wearing MAKEUP, probably since the age of 14.
The benefits of makeup are twofold: first and most obviously, a foundation adds color to your skin, giving you a glow or matte finish, and covering up imperfections…the second benefit is the protection/moisture that the makeup provides, and for me, it’s been every day for years and years…as for the past several years, my product of choice is Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in tan, as well as Laura Mercier Illuminating Primer.
Notice that the tinted moisturizer provides SPF 30 sunscreen…while I am not the best user of sunscreen on the beach, I am sure that there is a great benefit to using this daily…what I like most is that the makeup is lightweight and not heavy looking, while providing a smooth and ‘dewy’ glow.
Last but not least, I do Botox twice a year, just between my eyebrows…it’s pricey and it hurts, but makes a huge difference…
And that, my friends, concludes my skin care routine! Probably my shortest post of all. 😉
Work hard. Play hard. Enjoy every day.

Cleanse, serum, moisturizer, lancome base in AM replace the base with Retinol face oil at night which feels amazing. I LOVE my skincare routine. Like you, I have Mediterranean skin, and that oily skin I HATED as a younger woman has kept my skin from aging. So important!
