The Kiss

When I bought this scarf last fall on sale at Nordstrom’s, I chose it for its softness and interesting mix of colors – fun and casual for weekend wear…..when I got home with it and was folding it to put away, I realized the design was actually a dramatic kiss! I loved it even more but was slightly disappointed that nobody would ever see it when I was wearing it……this week I decided to use it as a home décor item as I often do with other visually appealing clothing items….so here it is, hung on our bedroom door!!!!! THE KISS…………..

If you have pretty pins, gloves, a wrap, a beautiful hat – let them be on display in your home. You can still wear them, but instead of having them tucked away in drawers and closets you can enjoy them every day. Below are a few more items I display in our bedroom….

Fur cape, BCBG hat, Swarvorski crystal belt all displayed on pewter day bed

Bedding and fur pillow, Anthropologie

My choices have given the room a “backstage dressing room” look which appeals to my interest in theater (and Peter is a good sport…)….you might prefer an old-fashioned vintage look or even a modern display, depending on your own personal style. For treasured items you may not wear everyday, why not still enjoy them in a different way?

  • This is a great idea! I have a reproduction turn of the century hat I’m going to unpack & hang on my bedroom wall!
