Week Five Fashion

Hard to believe that we are now ending week FIVE of social distancing, and for many of us, that means week FIVE of working from home. None of us were prepared for this yet by now we all have established new routines in all aspects of daily life…as I have shared previously, every single day I put on my makeup and a business casual outfit…on this particular day last week, I added something new…

Heels! Yessiree, I wore heels to my work space in the kitchen. Granted they are not stiletto pumps, but no way was I going to live in sneakers for two months! Let me tell you, it felt wonderful to be in heels!

The white pants are by Theory, found years ago at TJMaxx and the print top is an old favorite from JMCLaughlin…as for the linen knit ‘duster’ – it is by Eileen Fisher, found at Revolve…(all Eileen Fisher pieces are not ‘old lady’ clothes!)

A duster is a nice alternative to a blazer when you want a look that is more relaxed but still chic and sophisticated…it also hides your backside, which isn’t a bad thing with fitted white pants…;-)

The belt is new this year from JMcLaughlin – funny, this is actually the first time I wore it, working from home. It is actually reversible (pale gold trellis pattern on other side) so like getting two belts for the price of one.

When 5:00 rolls around, That’s when I change into jeans or leggings…it feels cathartic to remove the workday outfit and transition to more casual or fun clothes…if for nothing else it retains a sense of normalcy.
Don’t just look your best for the Zoom calls ladies – look your best for YOU.
Stay safe, dress well, better days are ahead.
