What He Wore
If you read my last post you know that Peter and I recently had a busy Saturday with a music recital in the afternoon, followed by his 40th High School Reunion that evening.
“What’s the dress for this recital?”, Peter asked me.
“Nice.” I replied. “No need for a jacket/tie, but a collared shirt, no jeans.”
“Ok, no problem.”
Where many guys would be grumbling, wanting to wear a teeshirt and sneakers, not my guy. It is not that he is following my direction, he has experienced the value of dressing well and he truly enjoys it. Lucky me. 🙂
Here he chose a blue striped shirt by John Varvatos – tucked in – with faded brick khakis by none other than Dockers! Like me, Peter is very attuned to fit – he liked the slim cut and I like that there is no Dockers label. Johnston and Murphy oxfords add style and he says they are super comfortable.
Accessories matter for men too. A camel belt and a watch by Shinola are simple yet sophisticated finishing touches.
Ok…let’s move on to the evening…
When you are going to see people you have not seen in years, obviously you want to look your best – and for men, that means wearing a sport jacket. Peter wanted to go with something less conservative so decided to wear his John Varvatos goatskin leather jacket with Varvatos waxed gray jeans.
This jacket is remarkably soft, and the neutral color looks equally nice with black, blue, or even white jeans.
And yes, these cool shoes are also by John Varvatos – found at one of Peter’s regular places to shop: the Nordstrom Rack in Burlington.
So here we are, ready for the reunion…

It was such a fun night seeing Peter reconnect with old classmates, watching their reactions to each other after being away for so many years. A self-proclaimed ‘geek’ in high school, I can attest that on this evening, at least once he was called a ‘hottie’! 😉

I wish more men would see these posts. Peter always looks so nicely turned out.
Love both of Peter’s outfits. The one for the recital looked exactly like what my husband wears most of the time. The outfit for his reunion however, was awesome! Very sharp. You all looked great together.
