White to Work
Wearing white is not only for summer, but on hot days it sure is a perfect choice to look cool and stand out from the crowd……I recently found this Vince knit sheath in the Runway section of TJMaxx……if you have not shopped in this part of TJ’s, you must be warned that the return policy is quite strict….they attach a large red plastic tag to all items…you can return the item with the tag on, but if you cut it off – it’s yours to keep. When I tried this dress on, I knew it would be a keeper – perfect fit, length, very comfortable, and can even be worn with boots in the fall – there was zero hesitation……. The simple style certainly looks great on it’s own, but it’s hard for me to resist pulling on a scarf, especially this lightweight flowery Kate Spade……as for shoes, many options would work, but I opted for two toned pumps bought last year at Ann Taylor……
To contrast the classic, pure white, this soft black leather jacket added edge while still being work appropriate…….
And how about this great dress? Another bargain, it is a Milly, found this year at Revolve in Belmont Center…..unlike the dress above which can be worn year round, this is 100% cotton and strictly spring/summer – and wearing it feels like summer – perfect for lunch with the ladies or a meeting at the office……
Keeping the look soft and feminine, I opted for nude pumps and a lightweight beige cardigan…simple jewelry, soft makeup, keeping the focus on the ruffles and the crisp white dress….
Time to pull out a summery handbag. love this straw Furla (also found at Revolve)….and keeping with the earth toned details, Kate Spade shades from good ol’ TJMaxx….
Wearing white to work is different than wearing white on vacation….paired with neutrals, either dark or light, it takes on a tone of seriousness while offering a nice change from all black…..definitely worth the extra trips to the dry cleaners! 😉

Love, love, love the white on you! So very lovely, especially with the neutral shoes. While I love white on others, I cannot wear it. The extent of my white clothing is a white cotton blouse and a couple of white t-shirts. Just putting white on, invites stains, spills, and all kinds of accidents. I’m too clumsy to wear white:(
I love whites of all shades. I wear a lot of white linen in the summer. And yes, I know it wrinkles, but I don’t care. Linen is the most comfortable fabric to wear, even better than cotton.
The white knit sheath dress was a good find, it looks great on you.
