White to Work

Wearing all white to work is not something everyone is comfortable with – for one, it shows dirt easily, so be prepared to hit the cleaners more often….it can also be a tough look to pull off – you can end up looking like a nurse, or worse, the ice cream man! How to avoid this?? Mixing textures is one way, as demonstrated here….instead of buying the suit jacket (sold along with this skirt) that was offered at Banana Republic, I opted for this white eyelet jacket found another day, another place….it not only adds more visual interest and texture, but it is a versatile wardrobe piece….I have worn it with jeans, and even paired it with shorts on vacation.

Because this was a work day, I chose to keep the other pieces simple – beige tank, white linen scarf, nude pumps, and Burberry bag. Keeping the colors monochromatic is a sophisticated look that is also flattering on a petite person. This look conveys confidence, style, and professionalism.

Who says it’s not fun being a working girl????

  • Candy, I wanted to let you know that I enjoy your blog- you do a really nice job with it.
You look wonderful and I particularly like your white to work outfit. I wore a white dress to work today, with beige pumps and a little gold jewlery. At first I hesitated ,concerned that it didn’t look professional. I received compliments and was very comfortable. Sometimes it’s jut fun to deviate a bit.
Thank you for all the style tips – you make it fun!
